چکیده
In the slipstream of targeting adaptive immune system, innate immunotherapy strategies are being developed. this context, technologies based on natural carrier vehicles that inherently interact with increasingly considered. Immunoregulatory nanotherapeutics apolipoprotein A1 (apoA1) discussed here. This protein is a helical, amphipathic macromolecule and main constituent high-density lipoprotein. capacity, apoA1 interacts specifically cells, such as monocytes macrophages, to collect transport lipophilic molecules throughout body. Exactly these unique features make compelling elementary biocompatible self-assembled nanotherapeutics. Such apoA1-based (A1-nanotherapeutics) can be engineered functionalized induce or mitigate an response orchestrate through antigen delivery dendritic cells. The authors first discuss apoA1's properties how exploited generate libraries A1-nanotherapeutics using advanced manufacturing approaches microfluidics continuous flow methods. Using high-throughput in vitro screening methods vivo imaging identify promising formulations then recommend. Finally, three distinct proposed effectively treat variety diseases—including cancer, infection, cardiovascular disease—and promote allograft survival transplantation.

Nanoengineering defect structures on graphene.
We present a new way of nanoengineering graphene by using defect domains. These regions have ring structures that depart from the usual honeycomb lattice, though each carbon atom still has three nearest neighbors. A set of stable domain structures is identified by using density functional theory, including blisters, ridges, ribbons, and metacrystals. All such structures are made solely out of c...

A new study found that receipt of the live measles, mumps, and rubella (MMr) vaccine on schedule after vaccination for other common infections is associated with a lower rate of hospital admissions for any kind of infections, but particularly for lower respiratory tract infections. Besides protecting children against targeted diseases, childhood vaccines have also been shown to have non-specifi...

While a PhD candidate, doing my thesis at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Biology Division under Dr. Charles Congdon, my introduction to the immune response was studying graft vs. host (GVH) disease as a consequence of bone marrow transplantation in mice. The sequalae of GVH was impressive, and demonstrated the potential of negative clinical consequences of the immune system. The idea of har...

With the recent advances in nanotechnology, plasma nanofabrication has become an exciting new niche because plasma-based approaches can deliver unique structures at the nanoscale that cannot be achieved by other techniques and/or in a more economical and environmentally friendly manner.[...].
متن کاملFrom Nanotechnology to Nanoengineering
In those early days, nanotechnology referred to the possibility of synthesis via direct manipulation of atoms and molecules for fabrication of macroscale products. In the 1990, K. Eric Drexler and M. Minsky used the word “nanotechnology” in their book “Engines of Creation: The Coming Era of Nanotechnology” (Drexler and Minsky 1990), in which they proposed assembling machines and devices on the ...
